€48.00Vooruit - herziene editie
In recent years the Dutch language proficiency requirements for people for whom Dutch is a second language have grown steadily higher. Passing the NT2 State Examination part 1 is universally accepted as proof of a good command of the Dutch language at B1 level (of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Originally, this was only required for people wanting to study at MBO (intermediate vocational) level, but increasingly it is also a requirement set by employers when recruiting new staff. Would you like to increase your chances of passing this exam? Then sign up for our special examination training programme to prepare for NT2 State Examination part 1.
To participate in the exam training, you will already need to have level B1 in Dutch. You can read about this level here.
The intake procedure for this course consists of: online intake conversation.
After you have enrolled for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure.
If you have completed the Dutch Intermediate 2 course at UvA Talen, an assessment will not be necessary.
No matter how good your Dutch is, you are sure to benefit from examination training. The exam consists of four components: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The training programme will not only help you to improve these skills, but also address specific issues relating to the examination itself. These include the best way to approach multiple-choice questions, how your written assignments will be assessed, tips to help you speak Dutch correctly and fluently when under pressure and how to listen to a text and note down answers at the same time.
The course
Each lesson focuses on two of the four skills, with a special emphasis on the relevant examination strategies. The last two lessons are used to cover any specific needs indicated by the participants. There is also plenty of time during the lessons for individual guidance for every participant. This means the teacher can pay particular attention to your own weak points and provide you with extra practice material.
The NT2 State Examination part 1 is not included in this course. For this, you must contact the examination office separately.
The NT2 State Examination part 1 is a national language exam for adults who are learning Dutch as a second language. With a certificate of the NT2 State Examination part 1 they can show their Dutch language skills are sufficient to work or study in the Netherlands.
Additional information about the exam is available at https://www.staatsexamensnt2.nl/.
If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate showing the level you have attained.

There is no difference in the course content and course material between the online and in class course, only a difference in format. The online courses take place via Zoom and the in class courses at the Roeterseiland in Amsterdam. By using breakout-rooms teachers will aim to provide the same interaction as during an in class course. In both formats students are expected to actively participate in the course.
The choice for an online or in class course depends on your personal preference for location and teaching style.
It is not possible to combine an online and in class course. If you start a course online, you will follow the entire course online. The same applies to in class courses. This is in order to ensure the peace in our classes and avoid a lot of changes between classes.
Students generally need to spend double the amount of time of the course on studying by themselves. This means that if your course is 40 hours of class, you can expect about 80 hours of homework and self study. In our experience, the more time you invest in homework, the more you benefit from your course.
In the week before the start of the course you will receive your final course confirmation which mentions your teacher.
