Our tailor-made Dutch courses are fully tailored to your wishes and goals. You choose when, where and how often you take your lessons- whether that be during the day, in the evening, on the weekend, online or on-location, every week or even every day! Every course is unique, but a tailor-made programme at UvA Talen will always include:
- A programme tailored to your language level and learning goals;
- An intake with a teacher beforehand, to ensure it is a good match;
- A Dutch teacher with an eye for culture and context;
- Lessons at your own pace: from a relaxed learning plan to an intensive training.
Whether you’d like to improve your ability to hold discussions, enhance your writing skills, or give business presentations in Dutch, we ensure that you’ll learn to communicate confidently in Dutch.

Who is a tailor-made Dutch course designed for?
This course is designed for professionals who want to work on their Dutch language skills in a targeted manner. Perhaps you’re preparing to move to the Netherlands, want to feel more confident in business-related conversations, or work in an environment where Dutch is the main language. This course offering is also ideal for HR professionals who are in need of language support for one or more employees.
How is a tailor-made Dutch course structured?
We start with a brief exploratory conversation in which you share your goals and wishes. From there, you’ll receive a proposal with an initial lesson plan and a quote. Once this is agreed upon, you’ll have an intake with a teacher to determine your starting level and fine-tune the course content- then you can get started quickly and in a way that suits you and your organization!
Can I take lessons together with a colleague?
Definitely! The course can be taken individually or in small groups of up to ten participants. You can participate together with your colleagues if, for example, you are working on the same project and have roughly the same language level. In addition, we also offer a Dutch course specifically as an in-company programme.
A tailor-made crash course in Dutch?
That’s also possible! You can often start within two to three weeks, and sometimes even sooner in consultation with our team. Contact us directly to find out what’s possible.
Would you like to make significant progress in a short period of time, for example, during sabbatical or between projects at work? Then our intensive intense Dutch course is also a good option.
What levels are available?
You can start at any level. Whether you’re learning your very first words, or you’d like to finetune your skills at the C1 level: we tailor the programme entirely to your situation and learning goals. During the intake, we will determine your current level and build a course plan from there.
A shortcut to fluent Dutch
Whatever your level, if you learn Dutch, the bike will pass by on its own. Figuratively and literally! Our teachers like using a bike metaphorically, but also as a stepping stone to discuss how Dutch people get around, make plans (“Shall we meet at the station?”), or spend their weekends. You therefore not only learn the language, but also how it fits into real situations. From “I got caught in the rain” to “I’m going to bike towards the Albert Heijn real quick”, before you know it, you’ll be joining in on the conversation- both at work and on your bike.
