The days are getting shorter fast. The rain's bucketing down, and out come the umbrellas and jumpers. Which is exactly why, at UvA Talen, we say: leave the terrace, head for the classroom! Our biggest course round of the year is just around the corner. This autumn, start a brand-new language like Japanese, Portuguese or Korean, or take your English, Spanish or Dutch up a level. Which language speaks to you?
From Monday 5 October, we're offering courses in 13 different languages, in Amsterdam or online. Every language is taught at a range of levels, from beginner to advanced. Read on for all the course options.
Fast-track it? Day courses in Dutch and English
Don’t want to spend months learning a new language? Our intensive day courses in Dutch and English are exactly what you're after. You'll have five lessons a week, Monday to Friday, for two to four weeks. In that short time, you'll climb two levels on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. You can take the lessons in the classroom in Amsterdam, or from home, online.

From Spanish to Japanese: afternoons and evenings
Spanish for your next trip, Japanese for your studies or that journey you've always meant to make, or Portuguese purely for the fun of it? Our 13 language courses run in both the afternoon and the evening: Dutch, English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Swedish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. For the globetrotter, the student and the bon vivant. And everyone in between.
You take the evening courses once or twice a week, for ten weeks. Fancy a faster pace? Then go for the afternoon course, three times a week. Between lessons, you'll have plenty of time to do your homework and make those new words your own. By the end, you'll stand two levels higher on the Common European Framework.
