This course is suitable for students who have mastered the English language at a very high level and who are planning to take the C2 Proficiency exam. During the course, you will receive complete preparation for this Cambridge English Qualification.
To participate in the exam training, you will already need to have level C2 in English. You can read about this level here.

Intake
The intake procedure for this course consists of: online intake conversation.
After you have enrolled for this course, we will invite you for an assessment to determine your level. We recommend that you enrol at least two weeks before the start of the course. If you enrol later than this, we cannot guarantee there will be time for the intake procedure.
Course content
Language skills
The course starts by addressing the four language skills of the exam (reading, writing, speaking and listening). You will improve your reading comprehension by learning how to skim a text quickly and how to recognise the intent and type of a text. The course pays attention to writing skills by practising all types of writing assignments that you might be given (such as essay, article and letter). Speaking and listening are addressed through interactive role-playing and by practising listening tests. You will expand your vocabulary by learning commonly used collocations, expressions and synonyms. You will be able to apply these skills in all components of the exam.
Exam skills
In addition to the four language skills, the course also devotes attention to general exam skills, including time management, summarising texts and working out what exactly is being asked. You will practice on official practice tests of Cambridge Assessment English.
About the exam

The Cambridge C2 Proficiency Exam assesses the highest achievable level of English: Level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. By passing this exam, you demonstrate that you have mastered the English language at a particularly high level. This level is often needed in professional or academic environments, for example PhD programmes or post-academic training. Certificate
If you complete this course, you will be well prepared to enrol in the exam at an external institution. From us, you will receive a certificate of attendance.
Course material
The course material is not included in the course price. If you choose to follow lessons in class, you can buy your books through us. You then receive them during the first lesson. If you are going to take an online course, you will buy the books yourself.

What is included in the price of a group course?
The course price includes:
- an intake
- the group course
- an exam
- (if necessary) a resit. You can take the resit within six months after finishing the course.
- a certificate
The course material is not included in the course price.
What is the difference between an online and in class course? Can I combine an online and in class course?
There is no difference in the course content and course material between the online and in class course, only a difference in format. The online courses take place via Zoom and the in class courses at the Roeterseiland in Amsterdam. By using breakout-rooms teachers will aim to provide the same interaction as during an in class course. In both formats students are expected to actively participate in the course.
The choice for an online or in class course depends on your personal preference for location and teaching style.
It is not possible to combine an online and in class course. If you start a course online, you will follow the entire course online. The same applies to in class courses. This is in order to ensure the peace in our classes and avoid a lot of changes between classes.
How much time should I expect to spend on studying by myself?
Students generally need to spend double the amount of time of the course on studying by themselves. This means that if your course is 40 hours of class, you can expect about 80 hours of homework and self study. In our experience, the more time you invest in homework, the more you benefit from your course.
Which teacher will teach my group course?
In the week before the start of the course you will receive your final course confirmation which mentions your teacher.
