Learn a language on the Roeterseiland Campus
UvA Talen is the independent language centre of the University of Amsterdam and our language school is located on the Roeterseiland Campus in Amsterdam East. This campus is also home to several faculties of the University of Amsterdam and is just a short walk from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences’ Amstel Campus. This is ideal for those who’d like to take a language course after a lecture.

As a student, you automatically get a discount on all of our group courses, but did you know that we offer language courses developed especially for students? For example, you can improve your academic Dutch skills in the courses Dutch Academic Writing and Academic Dutch.

If you are a student, you are not only entitled to a 20% discount on our group courses, but also on our self-guided e-learning courses that allow you to learn a language on your own time.
Are you a student, but not at the UvA or AUAS?
Are you a student at another institution than the UvA or AUAS, and would you like to take a language course at UvA Talen? You are also very welcome! Just present your proof of enrolment to receive a 50 EUR discount on our group courses.
How to get your student discount
Using your student discount is very simple: when enrolling for a language course at UvA Talen, choose the option ‘Student UvA/HvA’ or ‘student’ and add a document of your proof of enrolment at your university.
